Julie Hyslop BHSAI/BHS Intermediate Teaching - Owner and Lead Trainer specializing in Dressage
Julie owns Vale View Equestrian with husband Mark. She trained at Talland with Pammy Hutton for 3 valuable years, She has 40 years of experience in horse care and just as important, customer care. She regularly rode as part of the hugely successful Fosse Manor team-chase team, evented and has successfully ridden in the Melton and Harborough Cross Country Ride 14 times. She has ridden and produced show hacks and hunters at county level and qualified at HOYS.
Since setting up Vale View Equestrian in 2007 Julie has concentrated on dressage and has qualified and been placed at the British Dressage Regional Championships for the last 6yrs, also securing her place at the National Championships 2010 ,2011 and 2012. Alongside this, Julie continues to keep her eye in, and still regularly jumps her young dressage horse.
Julie's stunning dressage horse 'DHI Krackatoa' was purchased in March 2006 and had never been competed.
Since Julie has owned him, he has won numerous BD tests and was Northern Regional Champion at Medium Level in 2011. Both Julie and 'DHI Krackatoa' are now successfully competing at PSG and are working at Inter 1 at home. Julie trains with Ian Woodhead whose input over the last 7 years has been invaluable.
Julie has a great rapport with ‘quirky’ horses and freely admits to preferring retraining difficult horses and enjoys the challenge - Julie is always on the lookout for another special star to retrain, although her young dressage star ‘Diva’ occasionally tests this statement! Her pupils are out competing BD and Trailblazers with great success and they don’t often come home without BD points or a qualification for the regionals. The scoreboard here at Vale View often has Julie’s clients winning.
Although she is passionate about training and competing with dressage clients, she is equally caring about teaching and
training clients who enjoy competing at unaffiliated levels. Julie still “gets a buzz” when looking at the scoreboard
at Vale View, and seeing that her clients have done well! Just as she enjoys training difficult horses, she is very experienced
and understanding when teaching a novice or nervous client, who has perhaps experienced problems elsewhere.
Julie is also available for jumping training when perhaps our other trainers are busy & is really good at helping people become
more confident in their riding and themselves in general.

Steph first started working with horses some 35 yrs ago. Her love of dressage, both training and competing has been her way of life. To this end, the icing on the cake was to be asked to compete for GB in 1993 with her horse T C WILLIAMS. Both of them were a force to be reckoned with over a number of years at Grand Prix. Steph also turned her talent to Judging and today is a British Dressage list 1 judge.
When not judging or training, she has her own horse Hexenmeister who is graded Advanced Medium. In the last 8yrs Steph as trained 8 of her own horses to advanced level.
Steph always gets great pleasure, hearing from her clients, as to how well they do at competitions, and when they win you would think she had won! Steph has a direct approach, but delivers her coaching with a sense of fun, and oozes enthusiasm which is infectious!
